As a man with Ulster roots, my heart heart swelled in pride for Darren Clarke as it did earlier for Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell. Three Sons of Ulster winning majors all in the space of a year! What Ulsterman could ask for more. And Darren has overcome so much adversity in his life and in his golf game — losing his wife Heather to breast cancer at such a young age, raising two wee boys as a single Dad and never winning a major til now. I am happy for him and I’m proud of Northern Ireland. I will hoist a pint of Guinness in his honor before the week is out and listen to my Robin Mark CDs– Revival in Belfast rocks!
